  • Mentoring in LaunchX Virtual Summer Program

LaunchX offered me an opportunity to participate in 2020 Virtual Summer Program as mentor.

LaunchX -formerly known as MIT Launch – is a Cambridge-based educational institution with a mission to empower young people to build the future. Their signature summer program provides high school students with skills for real life success through entrepreneurship.

On Tuesdays from July to early August, I mentored two student teams through mock board meetings via Zoom. The team comprised students from across Asian countries, such as South Korea, Taiwan, and China. Teams start real companies driven by design thinking process, to discover innovative opportunities, prototype their ideas, and conduct user testing, going through multiple iterations. On the demo day, students present their products/services and business plans in front of the panel.

Here is the professionally-done website developed by one of the teams I mentored. I am truly impressed with the talents of students, exceptional teamwork, and excellent presentations. LaunchX offered the virtual summer program for the first time in 2020, making my summer a memorable one. I would like to extend my thanks to LaunchX for offering this wonderful opportunity, and wish students great success in their future.
